RTE Doc One Curious Ear

I cannot believe my extraordinary good fortune this morning to find myself having met Ronan Kelly. I've been listening to his documentaries on RTE for years now. He stayed over last night here at Josie's. A great guy and fantastic interviwer! Look him up on RTE! He's here to cover the 'Here Say Festival' in Kilfinane during November.

Up on high

Friends on Galtymore

2 are from Ballylanders, 3 are Irish fiddlers and 1 a member of the Galtee hiking club who I met a few years back. The woman to the left of the cross may be related to me on my grandmother's side. We may get a session going in Ballylanders next week. Joe, Mary, Eamonn, Tom.

Couldn't resist another trip to the top! A most beautiful day. I'm addicted to the Galtees and hiking amongst the sheep!

A Whale of a tail

The whale taking a dive!

Two whales in the north Atlantic on the way to Skellig

The one on the right has mouth wide open! We were chasing these whales and they were chasing us. I think we all had fun!

Skellig Michael (Irish: Sceilig Mhichíl), or Great Skellig (Irish: Sceilig Mhór) is the larger of the two Skellig Islands located 11.6 km west of the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland.[2] A Christian monastery was founded on the island at some point between the 6th and 8th century and remained continuously occupied until its abandonment in the late 12th century. The remains of the monastery, along with most of the island itself, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.[2]
