Exploring underneath Dublin Castle to the original Viking settlement around 835. They would later be defeated by Brian Boru. The Norman English would arrive in 1169, the beginning of colonization until the Republic formed in the 1920's following the Easter Rebellion in 1916 and killing of Michael Collins without trial.
